System Engineer, Coherent Optical DSP & Transceivers
As the System Engineer of Coherent Optical DSP and Transceivers, you will join a small team and play a pivotal role in the design, development, testing, and validation of optical transceivers for use in datacom and telecom
networks.
Arycs Technologies is looking for a subject matter expert who will work closely with cross-functional
teams, including the digital signal processing (DSP) ASIC and optical transceiver design teams to ensure that the product meets the industry standards and our customers’ requirements.
The focus will be on innovating and improving the DSP algorithms to optimize the performance and lower power consumption of the coherent optical DSP ASICs and the optical transceivers.
Job Overview: • Work as a key member of the DSP ASIC system engineering team to innovate, develop and validate system-
level models of coherent DSP algorithms (both in floating-point and fixed-point arithmetic), and analog RF
and optical devices housed in our optical transceivers.
• Evaluate performance of optical transceivers utilizing system-level models through simulations in various
fiber transmission conditions to ensure product meets system requirements. • Develop specifications and support documents for all simulation components and environments including
characterization/validation plans. • Collaborate with the DSP ASIC team at large in implementation and verification of the DSP algorithms to create
optimized DSP ASICs. • Proactively identify and implement improvements in the designs of all optical transceiver components to
optimize performance and to reduce power consumption and the cost of our products.
Requirements:
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Physics or related field.
• MS with 5+ years or PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience. • Experience modeling and simulation of end-to- end digital communication systems using MATLAB,
Simulink, Python, or C/C++. • Experience in optical communication components and system modeling and simulation is a plus. • Demonstrated experience working with high speed optical, RF, and optoelectronic components-lasers,
and PICs is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel for collaborative meetings with optical transceiver design team members (~5-10%).
